Manana Island and Kaohikaipu Island are two bird sanctuaries near Sea Life Park. The water is shallow, about 20 feet, to the islands with good coral along the route. From a boat between the islands or seaward of Manana Island there is good coral with shells including cowries, helmet shells and triton trumpets. The seaward side of Manana Island slopes to 100 feet. Lots of tropical fish and even sharks have been reported.

Be careful of current in the area. The Molokai Express has been known to sweep the unwary out to sea.
