PADI Advanced Open Water
What is the Advanced Open Water Course?

Take your open water skills to the next level. This course is designed to help you fine tune the skills you learned in your entry level course, and learn some new ones as well.

How does it work?

You will complete 5 dives. Each dive concentrates on a particular skill or adventure. The core dives you will do are the Deep Dive (which extends your dive limits past 60 feet) and the Navigation Dive (which begins your training on navigating your own dive underwater)

The following 3 dives are electives based on the interests of the class. Possible dives are:

  • Night Diving
  • Search and Recovery
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Multilevel Diving
  • Boat Diving
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Project Aware Fish Id
  • National Georgraphic Diver
Is there any class time?

The course includes a manual. Each chapter focuses on the above skill or adventure dives as described above. You are required to read the 5 chapters associated with the dives you are completing, and do the associated questions at the end of those chapters. This is all done at home, and does not need to be done in our classrooms

Where do I go from here?

Each dive you do as part of your AOW course credits to the first dive of that associated specialty. By the time you have finished this course, you will also have done the first dive of 5 different speicalty certifications! Each specialty you complete enhances your adventure, and builds confidence in your diving skills!
